Tahitian pearls are almost entirely produced in Tahiti and the surrounding islands of French Polynesia in the South Pacific, and are formed by the black-lip oyster (Pinctada margaritifera).
Tahitian pearls are known for their dark bodycolors and varied overtones, displaying a range of natural dark bodycolors from charcoal gray, silver, and green to brown; overtones range from cherry and peacock green to aubergine. Tahitian pearls have a relatively large average size (8–14 mm) and rich tones, making them a distinctive alternative to classic white pearls. Our pearls are sourced from Japan.
